Sondheim, 4/30-5/8

Soon, I'll be playing clarinet, bass clarinet, flute, piccolo, soprano sax, and oboe for the Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatic Club's production of Sunday in the Park with George.

The performances are at not-quite-random times between April 30-May 8, on the Loeb Main Stage. Warning, I will NOT be performing the night of April 30, so if you want to hear me play, go on any other day.

I've heard people say they find Sondheim too depressing. In my opinion, SitPWG is one of Sondheim's most inspiring (i.e. least depressing) shows. (Unless perhaps you're an artist with aspirations of success in the world of professional art; act II is a bit bitter about that. =) At any rate, it's a beautiful show, cherishing art and the artist, connection and beauty. Come see it!

I always had a terribly difficult time switching between oboe and flute. The former made my lips numb from pressing them against the reed tightly, and for the latter, I had to keep the tense, but still somewhat loose, and the two didn't combine well. :)
